Artist: Johnny Remember Me
Title: Johnny Remember Me EP
Release Date: 20.04.2012

Johnny Remember Me’s songs are planned bastard lovechilds of the melody drenched sixties idiom and every significant pop song out there that was published after the summer of love. As they put it:
“We don’t write songs – we produce sugar-coated bullets that aim for your heart.”
They may be wrapped in candy, but the core of these tracks is teenage drama and twen tragedy full of love and death. And even though you will find yourself unable to shake off the stories of the lovesick ghosts that are being told within these hookladen three and a half minutes, the most haunting thing about Johnny Remember Me remains the tune itself.

Release Date: 23.09.2011

Here you have the result of the premiere collaboration between the German independent label 33rpm Records, Double A Cooking and Minihorse Records.

“I’m So Proud” by Jeff Özdemir starts housy but as the track develops delves into explorations of instruments lying around Faruk Green’s and Edwyn Tokyo’s rehearsal room. Jeff Özdemir combines elements of the seventies & eighties with modern electronic dance music. Towards the end of the track he starts citing an old ballad by the Impressions.

Valparaíso-Sennen’s sound is influenced by house projects such as Sixteen Souls and The Rurals, and by minimal compositions by Satie and Brian Eno. “You’re So Naive” is an unobtrusive piece in the spirit of nineties Deep House with a mystic atmosphere.

This is the first release in a series of strictly limited split 7″ vinyls which cross the boundaries of established musical genres.
